‘Xingyun888’ wins this week’s GGPoker Super MILLION$; Petrangelo takes third

There isn’t much Nick Petrangelo hasn’t done in the world of high-stakes tournament poker. Adding “Super MILLION$ champion” to his resume, however, will have to wait at least another week.

Petrangelo’s first Super MILLION$ final table appearance ended with the high-roller tournament fixture coming up two spots short of the win. ‘Xingyun88’ started with the final table chip lead and ended with Super MILLION$ championship, winning $381,242 Tuesday in the GGPoker $10,300 buy-in weekly High Roller event.

‘Xingyun88’ outdueled Aleksei Barkov (2nd – $300,962) in heads-up play. Petrangelo (3rd – $237,587) made his deepest run yet in the weekly Super MILLION$, with the third-place finish vaulting his career earnings at GGPoker to nearly $1.8 million.

Petrangelo, Stuer, Dvoress headline stacked final table

As per usual, the GGPoker Super MILLION$ High Roller drew a field stuffed with poker’s toughest competition. A total of 195 entries registered for Episode 28 of the weekly tournament.

GGPoker pushed the prize pool to $2 million this week, adding $500,000 to the normal $1.5 million guarantee. The first day of the two-day event ended with ‘Xingyun88’ and Petrangelo as the top two chip stacks going into final table play.

Petrangelo drew more betting handle than ‘Xingyun88’ going into the final table, despite a solid chip advantage over Petrangelo and the rest of the field. PokerShares sets odds and allows betting on all final table participants each week for the Super MILLION$.

The $381,242 payday marked the biggest career finish on GGPoker by far for ‘Xingyun88.’ Prior to this week’s Super MILLION$, the Ireland-based player’s earnings stood at $133,640 at the online poker network.

Poland’s Julian Stuer (4th – $187,557), like Petrangelo, made his deepest run yet in a Super MILLION$ High Roller this week. Tuesday marked Stuer’s second Super MILLION$ final table appearance and pushed his career GGPoker earnings over the $2.25 million mark.

Daniel Dvoress (5th – $148,063) sat at the final table as yet another world-class combatant for eventual champion ‘Xingyun88’ to overcome.
